Yes, My Queen – Dragon Age Fan-Fiction Erotic Romance Short Story

Note: Excerpt is SFW.

Loghain entered Rowan’s bedchamber only to see that Maric already stood in the room. Loghain had to admit that being thus summoned urgently by Rowan had surprised him, but he wasn’t expecting Maric would be there too. He had hoped Rowan wanted to steal a moment alone with him, finally, after years of internally lamenting over the way things had ended between them.
Loghain and Maric exchanged a look before the King quickly turned away again.
Rowan’s expression was stern, while Maric’s was inscrutable. Loghain took a few tentative steps into the room and shut the door behind him.
Rowan acknowledged them both with a glance and a nod. ‘I’ve summoned you both here because things must change.’ She began to pace. ‘This has gone on for far too long. The cold that has settled between us, the distance between you and me, Loghain, the tension between me and Maric.’
She stopped and looked at both of them. ‘You are always in competition with each other and yet never daring to express what you truly feel, and as a result, you both hurt me with your resentment towards each other, towards me, despite the façade.’
Tears speckled her eyes before she blinked them away. ‘So we’re going to settle things once and for all, we’re going to settle things tonight,’ her voice grew menacing, ‘and we’re going to settle things my way.’
‘Rowan,’ Maric said gently, ‘we’ve already tried talking. It’s best if Loghain and I continue our friendship as though what happened between the three of us never did.’
‘You call that a friendship?’ Loghain chanced.
‘You still care about me else you wouldn’t be here,’ Maric countered.
Loghain conceded. He cared, but Rowan was right, there was a cold between them. ‘Our friendship is no longer the same, Maric.’
‘Do you miss it?’ asked Maric.
Loghain wasn’t sure. He looked back at Rowan. ‘Maric’s right, we’ve tried talking before. It’ll only open old wounds.’
‘That’s why we’re not going to settle this by talking,’ declared Rowan.
Loghain sighed, realising. ‘You want us to fight, don’t you? You want us to duel for you.’
‘I want you to agree to do this my way,’ stated Rowan. ‘I want both of you to promise me you will not argue, you will not talk back, you will attempt to follow my request to completion.’
Maric scowled and opened his mouth to protest.
Rowan raised a finger to stop him. ‘You will promise this to your Queen, for we are settling this now.’
Loghain glanced at Maric who bowed his head. Rowan stared at Loghain pointedly. She was so beautiful, he missed her, missed caressing her, he wanted her, needed her, and he had let her go…for him, for the man standing next to him.
Loghain downcast his eyes. ‘Yes, my Queen,’ he said softly. ‘I promise to do what you wish of me to make amends and make this right.’ He met her eyes and she nodded, her expression softening.
She turned her head to Maric. ‘Maric?’
Maric hesitated, then, ‘Fine, all right. I promise it too.’ He quickly looked at Loghain with what Loghain thought was hope in his eyes.
Loghain felt a pang. He cared for his King, loved his friend, but they had hurt each other so much, it had changed their friendship entirely.
‘Good,’ Rowan breathed. She stared at both of them. ‘Strip.’

Loghain slowed his pace, his shoulders dropping, as he walked back to his room, alone, his heart heavy with sorrow.
        ‘Loghain!’
Loghain stopped and sighed. ‘What now?’ he demanded monotonously.
Maric caught up to him. ‘I just want to chat.’
‘And I don’t.’ Loghain resumed but Maric held him back by the arm. Loghain sighed gutturally.
‘Look, you’ve done a lot around here and I can see you could use some time away. Why don’t you return to Gwaren, I think it’ll do you some good.’
‘You trying to get rid of me, man?’
‘Loghain,’ Maric chided, ‘I’m trying to help you. I can see you’re…well, we’re all still grieving, but—’
‘Are we?’ Loghain turned to face Maric head-on. ‘Are we both still grieving? Because it seems you’ve moved on and I’m the only one who weeps at night for your betrothed because back when you didn’t want her, I loved her more than I could any woman for the rest of my life!’
Maric blinked back tears. ‘Of course, I still grieve for her,’ he hissed a half-whisper.
Loghain bowed his head. ‘I’m sorry.’
Maric hesitated. ‘I just thought you might be happier if you went to Gwaren.’
‘Nothing will ever make me happy again, Maric, except serving the man I pledged myself to in trying to forget the women we both loved.’
The two stood in silence for a while. ‘I’m sorry too,’ Maric said finally. ‘I’ll be happy for you to stay in Denerim if that’s what you want.’
Loghain nodded and slowly resumed. ‘Good night, Maric.’
        ‘Good night, Loghain.’
Maric turned and walked the other way.
Loghain marched into his private chambre. He just needed some quiet. He had once again saved Maric, and what was his friend doing? Urging him to go home. But all Loghain wanted was to be in the place where the woman he truly loved had died.
He shut the door to his room and leaned his hands on it. He let out a frustrated shout, punching the door. Leaning his head on it, he heaved and let out a loud sob, as tears streamed from his eyes.
All he wanted was Rowan back, all he wanted was for Rowan to be alive. All he needed was Rowan.
‘Oh Rowan,’ he whispered. ‘You’re the only one I ever truly loved.’
Steadying himself, he walked to the lounge and sat down. He swallowed, closing his eyes, his tears still spilling down his cheeks. He bowed his head. He remembered Rowan’s touch when she caressed him, the taste of her lips; none could satisfy him like she could.
‘What a fool I was,’ he growled. ‘What an idiot. I made a mistake. I should never have let you go.’
He placed a hand to his eyes, weeping. ‘I miss you so much.’
He placed his other hand on a pillow and squeezed, clenching his jaw, and a wail escaped him. All the anger and hurt, all the anguish of his loss he had suppressed, was now finally being released.
His body tensed as he heaved, barely able to breathe. He felt like the air from his lungs would never fill again. He was sobbing uncontrollably. He needed to release it, he needed to release it all – now that he was finally allowing himself to feel it.
And then he felt something else tense, as memories flooded him.

Euphoric Trembles – Mass Effect Fan-Fiction Erotic Romance Short Story

After the destruction of the Reapers, Admiral Hackett has rescued Commander Jane Shepard from the wreckage.
When she finally wakes up, Hackett and she share a tender moment,
only to realise how much desire they have for each other.

Note: Preview is SFW.

Steven Hackett stood in his study, leaning forward on his desk for support. It faced the large room-wide view pane window. He looked out at the stars that streaked by the ship, trying to ignore the tremble in his hand, then focused on his reflection. He looked haggard and distraught, his facial hair more grey, his scars seemed more pronounced, and the bruises he’d sustained were still a little raw. He didn’t like looking anything but pristine. He supposed after what the entire galaxy had gone through, haggard was to be expected.
A whirr from the door opening drew his attention away from his musings as Jane walked in. A wave of relief washed over him, as he looked at her from over his shoulder. She still looked a little worse for wear but otherwise healed, and more importantly, she was conscious and walking.
Steven turned to face her. ‘They said you’d be up and about soon. I’m glad to see you back on your feet.’
Jane smiled. Oh, she was a sight for sore eyes, Steven noted.
‘It’s good to see you too, Admiral.’
‘Oh, I think we’re past formalities now. If there is anything left of the Alliance, I can’t raise them.’
Jane nodded. She joined Steven by the desk. He looked at her, feeling a pang of concern.
‘How are your wounds?’ he inquired.
Jane rolled her shoulders back and moved her arms tentatively. ‘I feel fine, actually. Just a little sore here and there.’
‘You were out for days after we found you. I must admit I was worried you wouldn’t pull through. I should have known better.’
Jane’s smile widened and she let out a small laugh. ‘I didn’t realise you worried about me, Hackett.’
Steven smiled back, feeling self-conscious. He turned back to look out the view pane window.
‘They said you set up a backup system.’ Jane’s expression was one of curiosity as she motioned the room. ‘I thought destroying the reapers had destroyed everything, but this ship is fully operational.’
‘Probably the only one too,’ replied Steven. ‘In the eventuality something would disrupt our technology, the Asari and the Rachni established some form of biotic-and-living-force-powered system. That is how we are flying through space right now.’
Jane’s eyebrows shot up. ‘The Rachni are powering this ship?’
        ‘Basically.’ Steven chuckled.
‘You thought of everything, didn’t you?’
Steven bobbed his head from side to side. ‘You could say that.’ He looked at Jane who beamed at him.
‘Well, I’ll be. A Rachni-powered ship. Never thought I’d see the day.’
‘Had to be prepared for anything. The Rachni proved more valuable than I had initially anticipated. Everyone pulled their weight in the preparations of this war.’ Steven looked back out. ‘After the…shockwave hit us, emergency systems came online. I sent troops to search the wreckage that was the Citadel. Can’t believe it’s been damaged to such an extent.’
‘It’s been repaired before,’ replied Jane.
‘True.’ Hacket folded his arms, turning to Jane. ‘I think it’s chance that let me find you.’
‘A good thing. I don’t think I would have survived without immediate medical treatment.’
Steven’s mouth spread into an amused grin. ‘Says the woman who literally crawled her way out of the wreckage, swearing the whole time. You’re as stubborn as they come, Shepard.’
‘Damn, Hackett,’ Jane cooed, ‘certainly don’t hold back any punches.’ They shared a chuckle.
Steven turned back to look out the view pane. ‘It’ll take time to find your crew. The Normandy left Citadel Space before the shockwave could spread outbound of the system. Until we can raise anyone or find a mass relay we can fix, even if temporarily, we’re just flying between systems. I’m hoping the Quantum Entanglement Communicators can help with part of that.’
‘I’m surprised the shockwave didn’t propel your ship out of the system,’ said Jane.
‘It nearly did. It tore pieces of the hull apart.’ Steven grimaced. ‘Threw me several feet and I nearly broke my back landing on the deck. But we managed.’ He nodded to Jane’s reflection. ‘Got things powered up again, got the crew on fixing the hull, and the Asari and Rachni had the ship flight-ready again in no time.’
He felt some pride in his ability to manage his crew. But not in his ability to manage his emotions. His hand trembled again and he hid it between his elbow and the side of his body, keeping his arms folded.
Jane regarded him endearingly. ‘If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re as stubborn as they come, Hackett.’
He smiled, amused, but then sobered quickly as his hand’s trembling worsened, and he downcast his eyes, feeling embarrassed.
‘Everything okay?’ Jane glanced at his trembling hand. So she had noticed.
‘Oh, just…’ He sighed. He turned to her, letting his arms fall to his sides. ‘You know, I’ve been with Alliance Command for as long as I can remember. I’ve faced enemies, faced incredible odds, faced death, all of it fearlessly,’ the anger in his voice increased, ‘but then when I came so close to dying in that shockwave, knowing it was either that or the Reapers that were closing in on us, at that moment, for the first time in a long time, I felt true fear.’
Jane looked deep into his eyes, her gaze intent. ‘Everyone feels fear from time to time, Hackett. Even me.’
‘I don’t.’ Steven bowed his head in one brisk motion. ‘I didn’t become Admiral by fearing the outcome of every mission I was on.’ He let out an exasperated sigh, looking at his reflection in the view pane. ‘Look at me, I’m in my fifties and I’m trembling like a cadet freshly recruited in the academy.’ He pressed the palm of his hands down on the desk, trying to stop the trembling.
Jane placed her hand on his. ‘Hey, it’s okay,’ she soothed. ‘There’s nothing to be ashamed of.’ His hand continued to tremble until she interlaced her fingers through his, her hand still over his, and the trembling stopped.
Steven felt a sudden tingle in his stomach. He looked at Jane, she merely stared back with tender eyes.
Acting on impulse, Steven leaned forward and kissed her. She opened her mouth to deepen the kiss and he pressed his lips harder on hers, tasting her warm lips. He pulled away, breathless, and stepped away.
‘I’m sorry, that was highly inappropriate,’ he said quickly. ‘I got swept by the moment.’
Jane took a step closer to him. She removed his cap and set it on the desk. His heart quickened. She took his hands in hers.
‘Maybe I want you to be highly inappropriate.’
He didn’t need telling twice. Pulling her to him, Steven pressed a searing kiss to her lips as Jane wrapped her arms around him.
