“The more Lord Beryl’s armies destroy villages, the more I worry. He has not reached our village yet, but his armies are nearing. There must be a way to protect the people. I hear stories from the neighboring villages, some of which have already fallen to Lord Beryl and have come to us for aid in reparations. Lord Beryl is a cruel man and uses his might to control all. He will kill with his sword as often as with his magic. He lets no one live who defies him openly. Most of the villages have cowered into obedience. None report to him any findings, though his armies make regular inspections. He is said to have captured many children already.”

“I have been observing the greater roads from a distance. There is much traffic of Lord Beryl’s armies. His search has no doubt begun, word of the prophecies have no doubt reached his ears. Rumors have it that there is a contradictory prophecy. I pray that the Emerald Eye remain safe. Whoever this mage seer is, whether he or she is born yet or not, the Emerald Eye is our only hope.
I have seen Lord Beryl’s magic first hand. I was very lucky to escape. I can only hope Lord Beryl has turned away from the Elves for good, now that he is bent on finding the Emerald Eye.”
