I Was Grinding Up Against Him! But I’ll Never Know What He Said To Me!

I was an extra for a local show, called Minuit Le Soir. It was a mature show about folks running a nightclub. My role, along with tons of other extras, was to be a partygoer dancing at the club.

It was strange to do these scenes in the day, make it look like night, and be huddled on one side to make it look more packed than it actually was.

One of the actors, Danny Gilmore, was one helluva hunk. He had played a Polish character in a series when he’d been a bit younger and I remembered him well. His character in this show was a guy with large braces whose metal stuck out far. You know, the kind that is partly outside the mouth.

Even with that contraption he was hot.

He wasn’t in every scene, but I had my eye on him in every scene I was in.

I made a few friends there — well, friends for the day. We were all dressed for clubbing, and danced together, some of us showing moves to others, trying different moves. As the scenes progressed, I gained confidence in my club dancing skills.

I saw him looking my way from off-camera, smiling.

The Worst Typo Ever!!!

It’ll Make You Spit Your Drink!

I don’t even know how I missed it!

I made THE worst typo EVER!

It was in the manuscript of the second instalment of my Stardust Destinies novel series. The one I’m currently Typesetting.

I proof-read the story multiple times. I had written it by hand and proof-read it before typing it. I self-edited it, grammar checked it, SPELL Checked it (using Word), I used GRAMMARLY for crying out loud! I LINE EDITED IT.

It was my editor who caught it.

The Context:

Bahvley is a supporting-main character in the series. He is on a mission with several others who find an injured ally.

Bahvley instantly falls in love with her.

Book Typesetting Checklist – A To-Do List (Not a How-To)

This is more of a “holding-myself-accountable” type of list but it can serve as a guide for anyone who needs to typeset their book. As I go along the process, I may return to this post and checkmark tasks I’ve done.

What is Typesetting?

Basically, Typesetting is the interior formatting of a book, for both Print books and e-books. I have to typeset for both formats. There are a few software programs that can help with typesetting. I will be using Microsoft Word, as I did for my first book.

Fun Fact: You can do a lot with Word to make your book look legit and professional.

This is not a How-To, however, it is a To-Do.

My editor has completed editing my manuscript, so now the rest of the work falls to me to get my book ready for publication.

The Magic of Dûnelor – Stardust Destinies Appendix 3

The magical polcs who dwell in the Desert of Dûnelor in the Great Ocean Valley originally came from the far and distant Land of Dûnelor. Dûnelor is home to many deserts, oases and jungles. Those who travelled to the Great Ocean Valley established a magical desert wherein they would be protected from the harsh winters of their new home and could retain the weather to which they were so accustomed.

Dûnelorians are polcs, thus they live between 500 and 600 years of age. Being polcs who come from a southern continent, their skin is tawny with undertones ranging from golden to umber.

Dûnelorians possess great magic and know many forms of ancient spellcasting. In their domain, they are ruled by an Emperor or Empress, selected from within the family lines of the previous ruler. The new ruler is selected by their predecessor and chosen for their magical abilities. The Emperor or Empress then selects two other members of their family to form the magical triad with them, each wearing a magical gemstone around their neck.
