Reasonable Minds Came Together And Showed Love

Disclaimer: This story is not a member-only story, for I write it not to make money from it. I write to show how thousands of people came together to help one man because he cultivated a community that loves him.

Richard Hoeg is an acquisitions lawyer and YouTuber from Northville Michigan who makes videos about acquisitions in the gaming industry and makes social media platforms’ Terms of Service understandable for the common person.

His motto: “Reasonable Minds Can Differ.”

Over the years, he has cultivated an audience of wholesome folks to whom he always shows his gratitude. He interacts with comments, with chats when he does his live shows, dubbed “Hangouts and Headlines”, and he even hosted a DnD campaign with other lawyers on his channel.

I quite enjoy listening to his videos while doing things around the house or when I’m working in Photoshop and such.

Life Threatening Emergency

Right before the start of the new year, Rick Hoeg had a stroke and required brain surgery. His wife has been updating the community and I am heartened to know that so far he is recovering steadily and still has his fast wit and sense of humor.

She Wanted To Beat Me Up So Badly Her Boyfriend Had To Restrain Her – A High School Anecdote

There are three reasons why she wanted to beat me up:

  • I had spoken to her boyfriend
  • Her friend and my friend hated each other
  • My friend and I were talking in English
  • Oh, and 4th reason, apparently we were in her park

Just another weekend in High School

It was a nice warm day and my friend V and I opted to go to the park to rehearse her oral presentation for English class.

When we got there, we saw that an old-friend-become-enemy of V’s was there with a friend. V and her ex-friend had had a fight after going to different high schools.

Two guys were playing basketball by the hoops nearby where V and I sat on a small grassy hill, and they waved at us, so we waved back. One of them approached us, looking right at me, and asked if we wanted to join their game. The other joked that their girlfriends were too busy doing their nails in the park to play with them. We thanked them but politely declined, explaining we were there to rehearse English oral presentations.

“If you change your mind, just give us a shout.” The first one said and he winked at me.

These guys were shirtless and sweaty and had taut muscles. V and I had a very nice view.

My Favorite Step-Child Is… – Anecdotal Story About Raising and Caring for Two Step-Children

She was jokingly giving me attitude. So I taunted back and said, “Fine then, you’re not my favorite anymore.” Her brother, in sympathy, began with an “aw”, then realized what this implied and finished with “Hey!” And we all laughed. They knew I was just teasing.

Robert Ralphchallenged me to write about my favorite child.

I have two step-children, both of them teenagers now who work part-time close to where they live with their mother, so we don’t see them as much as we used to, which used to be 50–50 when they were little.

We just spent several days with them and I told them about this story challenge. We recalled the time I recounted above.

In actuality, they both know they are my favorites and sometimes alternate, as in, each one is my favorite at the current time when they are, for example, doing the dishes. But for real, though, I love both my stepson and my stepdaughter, but it wasn’t instant. It took a while to get here.

As an aside, I have a Discord group with them where I gave us all nicknames. I’m Grand Master, my stepson is Acolyte, and my stepdaughter is Padawan. Thus, those will be the same moving forward.

When Trauma Flashbacks Kick You In The Butt, Make Crêpes!

Because If Nothing Else, I Am Enough For Myself!

Today has been full of emotional challenges, some of which I won’t get into, but needless to say, Trauma Voice, whom I like to call Fear Voice, has been kicking my butt.

Living with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ain’t easy. It is a trauma-based response, once which I have been healing from A LOT.

Who Is Fear Voice

Fear Voice is the voice of trauma that perpetuates the brainwashing and abuse that I lived. It can be things from childhood trauma, it can be minute things too, things that hurt me even if just briefly, and it can be everything my abuser would tell me and do to me. That is why Fear Voice is a “he.”
