Friends and Allies (Cosplay & Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

In these images you will meet Brenum and Trylia, Zaereg, Master Herl’unik, and Jedi Master Lian.

Brenum and Trylia are main characters from my Star Wars The Old Republic fan-fiction series. They are Jedi. Brenum is human, Trylia Togruta.

It was simple to place them in this background. I created Brenum in SWTOR, so I used his body, and used another SWTOR character, altering her skin colour, as Trylia. They are standing in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

Lian is a new main characters in the series and I created a SWTOR character specifically for him. He is a Twi’lek and has been very newly appointed as a Jedi Master, since he has a gift of healing the Force where their enemy creates malady. I placed Lian on a different background.

Zaereg is an ally to the large group of Jedi and Mandalorians. He is a pirate, and his species is Cathar. For him, I used a SWTOR character of mine.

Master Herl’unik is a Zabrak and the Grand Master of the Jedi Order in my series. I played around with altering existing SWTOR characters to create him, just to have a visual of his face. I placed him on a different background.

A Lightning Storm & Stone (Cosplay & Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

This image is the main image for my fanfic story Seekers of Darkness, a Star Wars The Old Republic era and style fan-fiction.

I used a background from SWTOR I had from a screenshot and adjusted its lighting and colours. I had to create the stone in Photoshop from scratch. It was a simple enough task. If nothing else, it took a bit of time, but it certainly wasn’t as complex as some other things I’ve tried.

The Crypt’s Power (Shadie Series – Binky Ink – Celinka Serre)

The lightning was the funnest bit. Just a bunch of different streaks, stretching them out, moving them around, and voilà.

My stone pillar, however, didn’t have enough depth, so I created its own shadow with an additional layer, and I copied some of the mushrooms and plants to place in front of it, touching it, to add some perspective.

Shadie Holds Her Blade As A Staff (Cosplay & Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

Shadie is one of the main characters from my Star Wars fan-fiction series which takes place in the Old Republic era. She is a Jedi and her lightsaber has the unique ability to be able to be powered on as either a single blade, or as a staff, which can be quite effective in combat.

The hilt was created using craft foam and acrylic paint. It’s a DIY. Placing my cosplay image onto a SWTOR background was easy. The lightsaber was created with rounded rectangle and outer glows and blurs. I’m not entirely sure I successfully got the blade and my body proportionate to each other and to the background.

Relsor’s Dual Lightsabers (Cosplay & Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

Relsor is a main character and villain from my Star Wars fan-fictions series, which takes place in the Old Republic era. He is Chiss and from the True Sith faction.

I had fun playing around with the lihgtsabers here. What was tricky was that the background has some light on one side, so I had to make the glow of one of the blades more potent. Giving more potency to the blade in the darkness was too intense, and since it was such small adjustments, I couldn’t get it quite right. I’m wondering if I could have tried another tool and layer to give the wanted result. I also used hilts that I inserted into the image. I used an in-game character from SWTOR as Relsor and a SWTOR screenshot as my background.

Here is Relsor in the same pose with his lightsabers powered off. Lighting effects in the above image make a huge difference to changing the background’s colour and the subject’s colour. The trick is to be subtle when necessary. Though I’m still mastering the art.
