Trials in the Force Prologue + Chapter One (Star Wars SWTOR Fan-Fiction)

Immediately after Relsor’s defeat.

Lian opened his eyes following his meditation and walked back to the place where Relsor’s Holocron lay. He stared at it for a moment, its deep blue hue glowing sinisterly as if beckoning. He could try to search it further, unlock more secrets, but the troubling truth that Lord Void was Relsor’s father lingered. The dark lord had not given him cause to doubt his allegiance despite the fact he was a Sith Lord. However, Lian knew full well how Void had been cunning and deceitful in the past. He could not let this go. But he could not decide what to do alone.
He looked at the chrono in the room and realised it was already the next morning, or almost, in standard time. His friends surely would have celebrated their victory late into the night, and on Mandalore day was still several hours away. However, on Coruscant, he knew, his call would be answered.
He contacted Grand Master Herl’unik and informed him of the situation.
‘This is indeed ill-received news,’ the Zabrak master said.
‘Lord Void has been an ally to this point, has helped us in our fight against Relsor. Now I understand part of the reasons that may have fuelled his decision to aid us. I trusted him.’
‘You feel betrayed?’ Master Herl’unik’s tone was gentle.
‘I’m not sure. I feel there is more than we know to this story,’ replied Lian, several emotions conflicting within him. ‘But this cannot be ignored. What Lord Void created affected the entire galaxy.’
‘We could put him on trial,’ Master Herl’unik suggested, ‘find out what his full implications are and hear his side of the story, decide whether or not it’s best to exile him or not.’
‘And what of the rest of the galaxy?’ asked Lian. ‘If we alone put him on trial, then it only includes the Jedi!’
‘Involve the Dark Council, involve Mandalore, and whomever else wishes to deliberate on this matter. Let us all judge Lord Void’s past actions.’
Lian thought for a moment. ‘That would make it more fair.’
‘And during the process, we need to keep Lord Void in a place where he can be watched,’ said Master Herl’unik.
Lian looked around. Nriwe and Thera were currently on Mandalore; they’d be safe there. He could lock and seal any door in the Crypt at his command. Hence, he knew what had to be done.
‘I can call Lord Void over to the Crypt,’ he said at last. ‘Ask him to come view the Holocron. Then, he will stay here while we all connect via holo for a grand trial. We will need to contact Mandalore and the Dark Council.’
‘Let me contact Mandalore,’ said Master Herl’unik. ‘And I’m sure once the Jedi from Clan Kandera know the news, they will contact Master Usharr. I will contact the Chiss Ascendancy as well.’
Lian nodded. ‘Very well.’ He sighed and signed off. He took a deep breath before contacting Lord Void on the holochannel he had shared with him. ‘Lord Void, there is something in this Holocron you must see.’
‘You sound troubled,’ replied the dark lord.
            ‘Indeed…’

Relsor and His Demise (SWTOR Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

Maranna is another new antagonist, and depicted by the SWTOR character of the same name. Here Maranna and Relsor are sharing an intimate moment. I basically took their gear off and took screenshots. I moved Relsor’s arm a bit and tilted his head. This image otherwise required a very basic edit.

For Relsor contemplating his fate, I merely took a screenshot of my character Shadyer sitting on his ship. I made a few quick adjustments in Photoshop, and that was it for this one.

Relsor dueling Fane was a bit more complex than I anticipated because of the dual lightsabers Relsor wields and the position I had him in, and wanted him in. Still, I moved his arms and played around with the lightsaber enough to get to seem like I wanted.

Fane’s arms needed moving, but I use a basic combat stance to begin with. I always enjoy doing lightsabers and adjusting their reflections onto the characters wielding them.

Those of you who read the Epilogue, now understand why Lord Void crouched before Relsor’s body and uttered the final phrase of the Sith Code, “Through victory, my chains are broken.” All throughout the novellas since Void’s introduction, I have been dropping hints as to his actual relationship with Relsor and who Relsor is to him.

It feels sad though, the end of Relsor. He was one of my favourite antagonists. But there are others, some now introduced, and some not yet introduced. Relsor’s legacy will live on with the True Sith, and with other very important characters.

In SWTOR, I had Shayder faint to get this position. I added the lightsabers on the ground, and played around with adding shadow here. Lord Void is in a kneel-crouch, which I did in-game as well.

Relsor’s saga has ended, but Maranna is at large, Awgro is still after Talyc, and the masked True Sith who keeps popping up impromptu is a powerful Force-user with yet-to-be-revealed ties to one of the Jedi. I’ve also got another set of exciting allies to introduce in the next novella story, so stay tuned for that; the ultimate adventures for the heroes has only just begun and they don’t even know it.

As always, I’m open to feedback.

The Future of the Force Chapter Twelve + Epilogue (Star Wars SWTOR Fan-Fiction)

Relsor sat in his command chair, watching on several screens of the large viewport monitor the battle that raged outside his ship, as well as footage from security cams from inside the ship. He sighed in anger, a long sigh. The Jedi had gotten inside the ship, the Crypt’s natural defences were holding up, and the war raged on. Relsor considered escaping, but he was not a coward. He would face his fate, which the Force dictated he could not escape, and fight Jedi Fane. Nothing else had worked thus far, hence he would have to ensure he killed Fane.
Relsor thought back to Maranna and his son. They were far away now, having made their escape in a stealthed shuttle before the True Sith armada had been found. Relsor had made love to his passion one last time before she had gone. That passion fuelled him even more when he thought of her. He let it fill him, refuel him, and ignite his full might.
He extended his senses and knew his enemies were close. He closed his eyes and focused on them with everything he had.

Shadie swayed and gripped Knarf’s arm. She failed to block an attack. Her husband quickly stepped in front of the True Sith before the enemy’s blade could touch Shadie, and deflected the blow, bringing the enemy down.
‘I don’t feel very well,’ she said, feeling queasy. ‘It’s Relsor.’
Knarf nodded. Shadie could not tell what face he was making, but by what she sensed in the Force, she reckoned he had received a wave of malady as well. He held his ground in a wide stance, holding his lightsaber with both hands, tightly. He looked down for a moment and then rolled his shoulders back, shaking his head. Shadie guessed he was refocusing his energy outwards to deflect as much of the malady as possible.
Brenum made a strange sound but kept on fighting. Trylia looked like she was fighting pain. Fane on the other hand seemed unphased.
Talyc staggered and leaned against the wall. He breathed as though heaving.
‘Illusions?’ she asked. The Mando shook his head. She joined him at the wall, sending lightning to whomever got close to them, but let the others take care of the True Sith while she and Talyc took a brief break from fighting. ‘You don’t have to follow us in there.’ She pointed at the room ahead, glancing to her right.
Talyc shook his head. ‘I do. I’ve made my mind up, Shadie. Nothing’s stopping me. I’ve got to be there with Fane, for better or worse, until victory or death determines our future. I’ll always be there from now on, no exceptions.’
‘You really did clear your mind and find yourself, didn’t you?’
            Talyc nodded. ‘I found more.’
Shadie smiled. She sensed much resolve in her friend. She didn’t know what he had learnt in his time away, clearing his mind from everything that had happened, but she sensed something in him that was new and it felt nice. It was a kind of purpose that could lead to happiness.
‘I’m happy to hear that,’ she told him, wincing and clutching her stomach. ‘Oh, I hate this. Relsor knows exactly where to hit me.’
Talyc put a gloved hand on her free hand and turned his helmeted head towards her.
‘Thank you for always being there for me,’ he said. ‘I’ve said some things in the past that I regret. I know I’ve apologised before, but let me saying it again. I’m sorry. You and Knarf entering my life were the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Knarf is my best friend; you are like a sister to me. We are after all related by blood; no matter how distant, that matters to me.’ Shadie smiled. ‘Fane is my man and my love.’ He looked at the others. ‘I couldn’t have asked for better friends, or for better clanmates.’ His voice cracked. ‘Whatever happens today…’
He didn’t finish the sentence, but instead bowed his head suddenly, and Shadie knew he was sobbing; she had a sense of him shutting his eyes tight. She nodded.
‘I know. Same thing with me.’
She took a deep breath and sent more lightning towards the True Sith to help her companions, protecting Talyc as he continued to recover. The Mandalorian didn’t have the Force, but he sure was resilient.
When the True Sith were down, Brenum and Trylia leaned on each other, Fane crouched, closing his eyes, and Knarf bent over breathing heavily.
‘He’s trying to slow us down, trying to stop us,’ said Fane. ‘He should know better by now.’
‘It’s all he has left,’ said Trylia, sadness in her voice.
‘That’s on him,’ Brenum said harshly. ‘You offered for him to come with us, for the Jedi to try to heal him, perchance it might have helped.’ Brenum shook his head. ‘Despite knowing the truth and what lay ahead in his future, he chose his fate.’ Trylia nodded.
‘Then it’s time for him to meet his fate,’ said Fane, standing again.
He reached out a hand towards Talyc who took it. Together they walked to the command room’s door. Knarf worked briefly at its controls, slicing it open. Hand in hand, Fane and Talyc walked in first, Brenum and Trylia next, with Shadie and Knarf last.
The door slid closed behind them.
This was it. If Fane failed, they would all die.
