Shadie and Knarf (SWTOR Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

I created characters in SWTOR for Shadie and Knarf, because Hubby and I can’t always cosplay them. It gives a bit more wriggle room to get creative with them down the line. I found an armour set that fit Shadie well, glasses for Knarf. He’s letting his hair grown, so you will see the evolution throughout the next couple of stories.

And then I placed them on a background of Korriban, and adjuted their light and colour so they fit with the scene.

I love doing lightsabers in Photoshop, I’ve gotten quite good at them, if I do say so myself, and this story image for Trials in the Force is Shadie’s lightsaber, because as the Lady of the Crypt, the Protectors of the Force become officially named because of her. I use three layers now for my lightsabers, for extra glow but at various intensities and it works well.

Knarf’s hair is growing and he has changed his armour. Here he is on Rylith. Eventually, he’ll lose the glasses too. This was mostly an exercise of adjusting the colour on him and finding the right colour tones to adjust with, given that Ryloth is vibrant with as many purples and pinks as it is greens and blues.

As always, I’m open to feedback.

Relsor and His Demise (SWTOR Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

Maranna is another new antagonist, and depicted by the SWTOR character of the same name. Here Maranna and Relsor are sharing an intimate moment. I basically took their gear off and took screenshots. I moved Relsor’s arm a bit and tilted his head. This image otherwise required a very basic edit.

For Relsor contemplating his fate, I merely took a screenshot of my character Shadyer sitting on his ship. I made a few quick adjustments in Photoshop, and that was it for this one.

Relsor dueling Fane was a bit more complex than I anticipated because of the dual lightsabers Relsor wields and the position I had him in, and wanted him in. Still, I moved his arms and played around with the lightsaber enough to get to seem like I wanted.

Fane’s arms needed moving, but I use a basic combat stance to begin with. I always enjoy doing lightsabers and adjusting their reflections onto the characters wielding them.

Those of you who read the Epilogue, now understand why Lord Void crouched before Relsor’s body and uttered the final phrase of the Sith Code, “Through victory, my chains are broken.” All throughout the novellas since Void’s introduction, I have been dropping hints as to his actual relationship with Relsor and who Relsor is to him.

It feels sad though, the end of Relsor. He was one of my favourite antagonists. But there are others, some now introduced, and some not yet introduced. Relsor’s legacy will live on with the True Sith, and with other very important characters.

In SWTOR, I had Shayder faint to get this position. I added the lightsabers on the ground, and played around with adding shadow here. Lord Void is in a kneel-crouch, which I did in-game as well.

Relsor’s saga has ended, but Maranna is at large, Awgro is still after Talyc, and the masked True Sith who keeps popping up impromptu is a powerful Force-user with yet-to-be-revealed ties to one of the Jedi. I’ve also got another set of exciting allies to introduce in the next novella story, so stay tuned for that; the ultimate adventures for the heroes has only just begun and they don’t even know it.

As always, I’m open to feedback.

Mando-Jedi Love Is Complicated (SWTOR Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

Talyc and Fane always live through so much angst (sorry my men) but they’re my favourite couple in my novella fanfic series.

Here Talyc is staring at Fane as he says “goodbye” to him. I wanted to show both of them front, so I placed a divider between them. Both have heads I created in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and both have armours whose colour I change in Photoshop, so it always takes some time to do their images, but it’s always worth it, I find. I always have to remember to add Talyc’s scar, which is subtle, but a detail I’d hate to forget.

Talyc says Goodbye to Fane as they stare at each other on Dromun Kaas (from The Future of the Force, Story 9, Star Wars Fan-Fiction by Celinka Serre)

As you will read, Fane comes very close to dying. (If he actually lives or dies, you’ll have to read the upcoming chapter to find out.)

To get Talyc’s body in the position I needed, I actually used a Bounty-Hunter character in the armour venting heat, and then I was able to mildly reposition the arms as I needed them. I also duplicated parts of them so they’d be in front of Fane, while Talyc was behind.

I made him cry. I tilted his head and added tears to his face. They’re subtle, but they add a pang to the already heart-breaking scene. (I’m sorry guys, I really am, but your romance is perfect for angst.) yes, I apologise to my characters.

Fane also a tear, one single tear following the natural line of his cheek. I was able to bend the body to have it in the position I wanted. I could have tilted his head more back, but I wanted him still conscious in this image. I really like this one; when I look at it, I can feel the angst of the scene.

As always, I’m open to feedback.

Red Lightning and Holocrons (SWTOR Fanfic Photoshop Experiments)

As was mentioned in a previous chapter of The Future of the Force, Lord Void unlocked a secret inside a Holocron, finding out how a Jedi could benefit from it, and allowed Fane to be engulfed with its power. As it stands in the story, no one but Fane and Void know what this Holocron does, but you can be sure you will find out later in the story.

Adjusting all the redness in the image was fun. The red lightning is an indication as to what the Holocron can do (hint-hint nudge-nudge wink-wink). I always enjoy making lightning and colourising it. I actually used the lightning layers from the Holocron image, but turned them around and stretched some of them. Placing one in front of Fane and other behind was perfect for the angle of his eyes. You see, he is looking at the Holocron here that is floating before him, but we don’t see the Holocron.

Fane Empowered by the Holocron (from The Future of the Force, Story 9, Star Wars Fan-Fiction by Celinka Serre)

Tinting everything with various colour correction tools and Hue & Saturation tools in Photoshop wasn’t too complicated, but the green part of Fane’s armour was still too green. I had to individually select it and play around with reddening it separately for it to match the redness of everything else. Then I was satisfied with it. I really like this image. Can you tell? lol

The Future of the Force (Story 9) Official Image – Mysterious Sith Holocron that empowers Fane

I had done the Holocron image first. The Holocron itself is a decoration from one of my SWTOR strongholds and I changed its colour. It’s originally lime-green. I added lightning (always fun), and used a Dromund Kaas office background. The same background was used in the image with Fane, but I zoomed in more here.

As always, I’m open to feedback.
