It is possible that in Dragon Age history, Andraste drank from a Well similar to the Well of Sorrows and that she spoke to an Evanuris posing as the Maker. It even says in the Chant of Light she came upon "emerald waters", the "Well of All Souls". I explain why in this Dragon Age: Dreadwolf theory.

These give us clues to new allies and to the foes Varric and Lace Harding will face, including Venatori, Antivan Crows, and a new kind of magical beings called Veil Jumpers.
