Variate Facing is the first novel in the thrilling Stardust Destinies YA/New Adult, Epic Fantasy/High fantasy adventure series.

The 2nd Edition of Stardust Destinies I Variate Facing is now available on Amazon, Barnes n Noble, Chapters/Indigo, and other online book stores.

Author’s Note:

I am so proud of myself to have worked on this 2nd Edition. I learnt so much, not only working with other editors, but also as a writer on Medium, and I put all I learnt into enhancing the story of the first book to bring it up to par with the 2nd.

The re-edit includes extended scenes, rephrasing of the narrative in some places to respect my voice better, revisions by my new editor who edited book 2, and a few additional changes, like turning ‘said’ dialogue tags into alternatives that convey the characters’ emotions better.

Embark on the journey with the Five of the Star!

‘This is not a fight about power. It is not a fight against evil alone. It is for love that we do this. It’s a fight about peace, it’s a fight about magic, it’s a fight to save our friends, our lands, our world. It’s a fight for the Freedom of Life!’

The Old Grey House – Fantasy Fiction Song from Stardust Destinies

The following is a passage from Stardust Destinies I Variate Facing.

‘Why, I’m Drúgan. I live here with my two grandchildren, who took it upon themselves to help me help others. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of me — I’m in the old songs, you know. There’s even a song about my daughter and her husband, who have their own invisible house.’

‘Well,’ began Vigh, ‘I’m afraid we haven’t been singing the songs for a long time.’

‘I understand,’ said Drúgan. ‘Let me have the honour.’ He cleared his throat and began to sing with gusto.

Up in the north near the Ortim River,
Lives old Drúgan in that land;
And when you go up thither,
No doubt he will give you a hand.

There with him lives Tlúnëe,
The bravest of the warriors,
With his green eyes like the sea
And his silk hat with the feathers.

There also lives young Clahria,
With her long golden hair,
Who, like her mother Maria,
Practices magic in a secret lair.

What Is Unicorn Flu? Fiction Short Story — Humor — Comedy

The Premise: Sometimes my brain plays tricks on me and I blurt things out that don’t make sense. I was putting on my unicorn socks (socks with unicorns on them) and voiced ‘unicorn flu.” Then I began to ask myself, what would that look like, and why would anyone NOT want to catch it? Here is my answer.

Unicorn Flu is an extremely rare and uncommon illness.

No one knows how one catches it since it is not transmitted from another human. But when you have it, everyone knows you have it, so beware.

Its name comes from the colourful symptoms that afflict a person who has succumbed to it.

As of yet, there is no treatment, though symptoms should alleviate after 2 to 3 weeks.

Symptoms:

Unicorn Flu acts primarily like any other regular cold, but with little chance of fever, with little to no nasal congestion. However, it comes with its own set of odd and unique symptoms that distinguish it from any illness ever before known in human history.

These symptoms include:

  • Mucus will alternate between the various colours of the rainbow, especially when expectorating through the nose.
  • You will also be very prone to farting pink puffs of glitter.

Glitter gets everywhere.

Many people try to avoid anyone who has Unicorn Flu, not because they may catch it but because they simply do not wish to bring home glitter only for it to get in everything and onto everyone else.

We advise people with Unicorn Flu not to use public transportation for the sake of not spreading the glitter.

Statistics have shown that people with Unicorn Flu enjoy partying at raves where they are specifically given beans to eat so they can provide glitter inside the club

The Traveller’s Lament – Epic Fantasy Song — Medieval Fantasy — Fiction

We hear of travellers long ago,
Who slew great beasts and won some gold.
We hear how they overcame their foes,
Bringing hope and peace, and how they were bold.

But when they die, what happens next?
New fears come home and perils stay,
New heroes come along and there’s no time to rest,
For fight they must, risk their lives if they may.

And what about me, when do I go,
And prove myself to everyone?
I will dare to defeat and overcome fear and foe,
I will be as great as the greatest, when I am done.

Now that the shadows are clearly seen,
And the enemy strives to kill,
I shake and shiver — what does all this mean?
I hide away. I cannot find my will.
